🐺 Wolf Sports Weekly

Two unbeatens remain

The Eagles and the Bills are the only unbeaten teams in the NFL after four weeks. This week’s Wolf Sports Weekly recaps Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season and hits on the biggest news in sports.

šŸæ Week 4 recap

Sunday Night Football between the Cowboys and the Packers with Micah Parsons lived up to the hype, ending in a 40-40 tie past midnight ET. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott—who got a big game from WR George Pickens with CeeDee Lamb out—played lights out while Dallas mostly neutralized Parsons. But the Green Bay offense couldn’t be stopped either, including three TDs from WR Romeo Doubs. Overall, it was an odd outcome for both sides; and after the game, Jerry Jones called his QB ā€œindispensableā€ while Parsons wasn’t, while Parsons said Jones couldn’t ā€œtell me as a manā€ he was trading him.

Giants superstar WR Malik Nabers is done for the year with a torn ACL, unfortunately ending his season and putting a damper on a huge upset win against the Chargers in the first start for rookie QB Jaxson Dart. Dart started fast with a rushing score and took care of the ball while adding a shuffle pass TD in a defensive battle where New York’s defense hounded QB Justin Herbert, who lost OT Joe Alt to a high-ankle sprain (out several weeks).

Are the Chiefs back? In a matchup of 1-2 squads, Kansas City blew out Baltimore, 37-20. The return of WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) for the first time since early in the season opener was a massive boost, as he led the team in both rushing (38 yards) and receiving (83 yards) with 17.3 yards per touch while QB Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdowns (first time since 2023) to four different players. Meanwhile, the Ravens clearly have some things to figure out, and the status of QB Lamar Jackson will be monitored after he sat early due to a hamstring injury.

The Eagles picked up where they left off, with an early punt block returned for a TD in an eventual 31-25 win against the Bucs. Tampa stormed back from a 24-6 halftime deficit, but Philly held on—keyed by an interception of Baker Mayfield by rookie LB Jihaad Campbell at the goal line. However, star WR A.J. Brown shockingly had his third quiet outing (two receptions, seven yards) of the season and posted a subliminal message about quietly withdrawing where you’re not wanted.

The Steelers held on to defeat the Vikings in the NFL’s first-ever game in Ireland, 24-21. With RB Jaylen Warren (knee) out, Kenneth Gainwell ran for 99 yards and two touchdowns. The highlight play was an 80-yard TD from Aaron Rodgers to DK Metcalf, a catch-and-run where the talented WR showed off his size and speed. Remember, Rodgers reportedly was interested in playing for Minnesota this season; instead, he has another win against his former NFC North rival.

In the MNF doubleheader, the Dolphins got on the board with a win over the Jets as TE Darren Waller caught two TDs in his team debut, but it was costly—with WR Tyreek Hill suffering a devastating knee injury that includes a dislocated kneecap and torn ligaments. Meanwhile, QB Bo Nix totaled three TDs as the Broncos blew out the Bengals, with Cincy held under 200 yards for the third time in four games.

Other Week 4 results:

āœļø Player updates

Ravens All-Pro DT Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) is officially out for the year, HC John Harbaugh announced yesterday. Also, All-Pro LB Roquan Smith will miss time with a hamstring injury, and All-Pro CB Marlon Humphrey is set to be out due to a calf.

The Texans made a couple of surprising veteran moves, as they released S Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, who was reportedly disgruntled and wanted to be traded, and traded OT Cam Robinson to the Browns in a late-round pick swap. Gardner-Johnson and Robinson were both acquired during the offseason.

In addition to the injuries to Nabers, Hill, Alt, and Ravens injuries, more injuries from Week 4 include: 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe soreness, uncertain for TNF vs. Rams), Lions CB D.J. Reed (hamstring, to miss time), Jaguars DE Travon Walker (wrist, to miss time), Raiders OT Kolton Miller (high-ankle, out multiple weeks), Saints G Cesar Ruiz (high-ankle, four-to-six weeks), Jets RB Braelon Allen (knee, TBD), Bills P Cameron Johnston (leg, TBD), Eagles OLB Ogbo Okoronwko (triceps, out for season)

Injury news from before Week 4: Bucs WR Mike Evans (hamstring) is expected to miss about a month; Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (quad) is week-to-week and could return this Sunday; Eagles OLB Nolan Smith is out at least three more games on IR with a triceps injury; and Jets LB Quincy Williams will miss at least a month with a shoulder injury.

The Jets acquired CB Jarvis Brownlee from the Titans in a late-round pick swap.

One of the big stories around the NFL over the past couple of weeks has been legendary QB Tom Brady’s dual role as the biggest voice for FOX and a part NFL owner. In case you’re lost on this unique situation, here’s a recap:

-In his first season calling NFL games last year, Brady was limited in production meetings throughout the week given his status as a part owner of the Raiders.
-This year, the rules were relaxed, so Brady can talk to teams and get more intel to color his game-day analysis.
-However, Brady is heavily involved with the Raiders, from being in the coaches booth for a MNF game to talking to offensive coordinator Chip Kelly at least a couple of times per week.
-Some are saying this is totally out of bounds and gives Brady unfair intel, but the seven-time Super Bowl champion wrote in his newsletter that he feels he has a ā€œmoral and ethical duty to the sportā€ to do things right.
-You can also argue that teams don’t have to share info with Brady. Also, he’s reportedly been sharing valuable wisdom with players who have sought his insight.

What do you all think? Should Brady be allowed to continue talking and getting access to other teams?
