Tik... Tok...

Wolf Sports is on TikTok. We’ve gotta figure out how it all works, but feel free to follow us if you’re on the platform! (Don’t worry, we agree with Joe Flacco, and we won’t be doing TikTok dances.)
🏈 Mandatory minicamp highlights
Let’s start with some good news: Texans QB C.J. Stroud’s shoulder appears to be fine, as he was throwing during minicamp after dealing with muscle tightness that had people worried earlier this offseason.
All in: Steelers C Zach Frazier says the new QB Aaron Rodgers spoke in front of the team and said that he’s all in from here on out after his signing took a bit.
Speaking of Rodgers, Browns DE Myles Garrett issued a threat/warning on the veteran QB signing in the division.
Packers WR Bo Melton worked out at CB during minicamp, showing his versatility after Green Bay released star CB Jaire Alexander. Remember, Bo’s younger brother Max plays CB for the Cardinals.
The Chargers have added patches to their practice jerseys, highlighting both team and personal achievements in a unique way.

💰 Money talk
Bills RB James Cook attended and participated in mandatory minicamp, which was somewhat of a surprise. His reasoning is pretty simple: “I like my money. That’s why I’m here.” (Cook avoided fines by attending minicamp.)
Three players who did not attend mandatory minicamp last week: Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt, Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson, and Commanders WR Terry McLaurin. All three players are entering the final year of their contracts.
Watt is almost certainly expecting $40 million like Myles Garrett got, and the 30-year-old appears set to take a hard stance.
Hendrickson and the Bengals have reportedly at least resumed contract talks after months of back-and-forth.
McLaurin is coming off a career-high 13 touchdowns and probably feels he’s a key piece who should be rewarded by Washington.
Cowboys star Micah Parsons is not holding out, but he says Dallas is costing themselves money by waiting on making a deal.
Bengals first-round rookie DE Shemar Stewart left mandatory minicamp after initially attending team activities but seeing no progress in contract talks. Stewart says that Bengals star players have told him he’s doing the right thing.
Cincinnati’s unsigned first-round draft pick Shemar Stewart now has left mandatory minicamp, per source. Stewart had been attending team activities, but without a signed contract and with the Bengals asking for certain clauses, no longer.

This week’s Consigliere Corner is fairly basic, but also should be very helpful for those participating in fantasy football drafts this summer—whether this weekend or in early September. And it’s just one simple piece of advice: be sure to draft by best player available.
Whether this is selecting four running backs in a row to start a draft or not taking a runner until much later, you need to focus on getting the best possible value when building your roster. By following our Fantasy Consigliere rankings, we are confident that going heavy at a position early will still allow you to get great values at other positions later in the draft.
As an example, the last thing you want is to pass on a possible RB1 option (maybe someone ranked No. 24 overall and as the overall RB10) in the fourth round just because you don’t have a wide receiver (maybe the best wideout available is ranked No. 38 overall and is the WR19). That’s over a full round of value you’re missing out on in a 10- or 12-team league.
You might have to live with some imbalance early, but you can always make a trade (with better “assets” to deal if you hit on picks), and it’s not worth the risk of passing on the superior option—who then goes to an opponent and could end up hurting you in the fantasy playoffs as the worst-case scenario.
Of course, there is some wiggle room if two players at different positions are essentially ranked in the same tier, which could mean the position of need is a tiebreaker. But in general, the extreme BPA approach isn’t talked about by anyone else, so we’re here to tell you that it is the best path to building a powerhouse roster for when it matters most in December.
