The big Maxx Crosby news leads the headlines, but this is all you should know from around the NFL and sports world.
🏴☠️ Maxx Crosby stays a Raider
The Ravens backed out of their deal to trade two first-round picks to the Raiders for All-Pro DE Maxx Crosby, who is set to remain in Vegas despite previously requesting a trade (and getting one).
At the time of the trade news, we were somewhat surprised a team that drafts so well in the first round like the Ravens gave up the two firsts; it seems they ultimately got second thoughts themselves.
After the trade fell through, Crosby posted: “Everything Happens For A Reason” along with an Undertaker gif, making it clear that he’s a Raider.
When the trade to the Ravens was announced, Crosby said he still wanted to retire as a Raider—which shows the love he has for the team that drafted him and explains why he’s seemingly now happy to stay.
The consensus is that Baltimore basically got cold feet, and it’s difficult to disagree with that. According to Crosby’s agent, the esteemed Dr. Neal El Attrache says that Crosby is actually “ahead of schedule” in his recovery from offseason knee surgery. Nevertheless, the Ravens very quickly pivoted to sign former Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson to a huge four-year contract.

👀 Vikings land Kyler
As for an expected move that did go through, the Vikings signed former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray.
During his introductory press conference, Murray revealed that he grew up a Vikings fan and was heartbroken when Brett Favre’s INT ended the 2009 NFC Championship loss to the Saints.
He’ll compete with 2024 No. 10 overall pick J.J. McCarthy for the starting job, but it’s difficult to envision the dynamic former Heisman winner not being the Week 1 starter.
That said, the Cardinals are paying their former starter $36.8 million not to play for them in 2026, so it’s a very low-risk move by Minnesota.
The Colts also made a big QB move, extending Daniel Jones on a two-year deal worth up to $100 million.
Jones could’ve played on the franchise tag this season, but the move works great for both sides—and even allows Jones to potentially cash in again in a couple of years if he can stay healthy and play well.
The former Giants starter has certainly proved a ton of people wrong after getting out of that situation in New York and earning a second big contract in his career.
Despite coming off a torn Achilles from late last season, Jones might even be ready for the start of training camp.
