😮‍💨 Still recovering from last week’s news. Do the Myles Garrett and A.J. Brown trades to the Rams and Patriots change how you feel about the 2026 NFL season?

🫡 Russell Wilson officially retires

As mentioned last week, Russell Wilson took a CBS Sports job on The NFL Today. But he also revealed that he is indeed officially retiring from the NFL, sharing a nice video thanking the game.

Wilson is currently the only player in NFL history to hit 35,000 passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards in a career.

🔒 Plethora of extensions

The Falcons extended WR Drake London on a massive four-year, $141 million deal making him the third highest paid WR in the league—behind only Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja’Marr Chase.

Packers extend Christian Watson again: Green Bay is signing the big-play WR to a four-year, $110.5 million contract.

Steelers lock in two players: Pittsburgh signed EDGE Nick Herbig to a four-year, $100 million deal and extended TE Darnell Washington for four years, $42 million. The Steelers also signed LB Jamin Davis and TE Robert Tonyan.

EDGE Derick Hall signed a three-year, $42 million extension with the defending champion Seahawks.

The Broncos gave All-Pro CB Patrick Surtain II a pay raise despite the contract extension he previously signed just kicking in this season.

🩼 Injury updates: Micah Parsons’ status

Packers star EDGE Micah Parsons won’t play until at least mid-October this season as he returns from an ACL tear.

The Packers’ opponents for Week 5 and Week 6? The NFC North rival Bears (10/11) and his former team the Cowboys (10/18). We’ll see if Parsons is good to go for one of those matchups.

49ers TE George Kittle says he’s “on track” and hopes to be ready for Week 1 in his recovery from a torn Achilles despite tearing it in January.

Lions rookie WR Kendrick Law is out for the season with a torn ACL.

The 2026 NFL season will be underway in just three months. Our initial 2026 season statistical projections are out. We recommend following out rankings above all else, but the projections are another tool to utilize. They’ll be tweaked as the summer progresses, but here is the initial top five—which further confirms Lions star Jahmyr Gibbs as our No. 1 overall player while projecting a top-10 season all-time:

  1. Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs: 418.1 half PPR points

  2. Bills QB Josh Allen: 392.24 half PPR points

  3. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson: 380.28 half PPR points

  4. Falcons RB Bijan Robinson: 371.5 half PPR points
