👀 Official dates for 2026 NFL training camps dropped yesterday—as well as joint practice schedules including Patriots WR A.J. Brown reuniting with his former Eagles squad.
⚔️ Titans extend DL Jeffery Simmons
The latest NFL star to cash in came last Friday with Titans DL Jeffery Simmons signing a three-year, $105.8 million extension—which includes $100 million guaranteed.
The deal makes Simmons the first interior defensive lineman to get nine figures in guarantees on a single contract, and he also set the NFL record for annual salary for the position at $35.3 million.
Now signed through the 2030 season, the soon-to-be 29-year-old (in July) says he wants to help the organization “get back to competing for championships.”
The league-wide impact of the monster deal mostly focuses on the standout defenders in the NFC East—as Cowboys DL Quinnen Williams could be seeking a new contract after being acquired in a trade last fall, and Eagles DL Jalen Carter skipped work during OTAs with a new contract seemingly being a priority for him.

📝 Cam Jordan back with the Saints
Additional player news includes the Saints re-singing veteran EDGE Cameron Jordan on a one-year deal, which he says will be his final season.
EDGE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka—a former first-round pick of the Bucs who signed with the Eagles in the offseason—is retiring from the NFL at the age of 27.
The Jaguars extended LS Ross Matiscik on a two-year deal, which makes the three-time Pro Bowl snapper the highest-paid player at his position.

🏈 Offseason training
We’re getting closer to NFL training camp, with less than a month until veterans for the Cardinals and Panthers officially report. Veterans for all 32 teams will be in camp by July 28, and the full reporting dates (along with joint practice dates) have been revealed.
One date that is sure to draw attention is the first joint practice between the Eagles and Patriots with WR A.J. Brown sharing the field with his former team.

😬 Past, present, and future
Bengals QB Joe Burrow expressed extreme confidence in the outlook for his team this season, saying he feels “very similarly” to how he felt before the 2019 season when Burrow helped lead a stacked, championship-winning LSU squad to one of the best seasons in college football history.
Cowboys WR George Pickens told reporters he is not holding out this season and will play on the franchise tag—with his focus being to win a Super Bowl in Dallas.
In one of the more stunning (and funniest) bits of news before wrapping up OTAs around the league, Colts CB Sauce Gardner says he is actually 24 years old—and not 25 as previously believed. Sounds like good news for Indianapolis after acquiring Gardner for two first-round picks last season.
The NFL Top 100 Players of 2026 list began on X with Saints EDGE Cameron Jordan at No. 100 and Colts G Quenton Nelson at No. 99.
