Thought of as a highly unpredictable year, the 2025 NFL Draft lived up to that billing. After the Titans took Miami QB Cam Ward No. 1 overall, things got crazy with the No. 2 pick, with the Jaguars trading up from No. 5 to select Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. Cleveland pulled off a relative shocker with Michigan DT Mason Graham at No. 5, and the first night was scattered with surprises from there:
The Panthers selected Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan at No. 8, with virtually no one expecting a non-defensive selection by Carolina.
Michigan TE Colston Loveland was picked by Chicago at No. 10 before Penn State TE Tyler Warren, who went to Indy at No. 14.
Georgia star Jalon Walker dropped to the No. 15 pick for the Falconsāand then Atlanta traded their 2026 first-rounder to the Rams to take Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr. at No. 26.
Already with a loaded WR corps, the Bucs took Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka No. 19 overall. (Think Baker Mayfield is excited to throw the ball around again this year?)
The Giants traded up with the Texans to No. 25 to take Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
As usual, teams like the Ravens (Georgia S Malaki Starks, top 10 on our board), Eagles (LB Jihaad Campbell), and Chiefs (OT Josh Simmons, our No. 1 OT) were able to get prospects expected to go higher than they did.
More storylines and moments throughout the draft:
Shedeurās slide: Colorado QB Shedeur Sandersāthought by most to be a first-rounder in the mix for a top-three pickādropped to the fifth-round before he was Clevelandās second QB selection (they took Oregonās Dillon Gabriel in Round 3). It seems evident that Sanders didnāt handle the pre-draft process well, but give him credit for saying all the right things after the massive drop: āI know I have to clean up some things in my game. The main thing is proving Stefanski and Mr. Berry right about picking me.ā
Prank call: Unfortunately, Sanders was prank called in the second round by college students acting like moronsāand it turned out the phone number came from the son of Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich, who took it from his iPad. Jax Ulbrich apologized publicly and privately.
Other QBs: The Saints selected Louisvilleās Tyler Shough at No. 40 overall in somewhat of a stunner, the Seahawks got Alabamaās Jalen Milroe No. 92 overall in a pick announced by Shaun Alexander, and Ohio State QB Will Howard (Steelers) and Texas QB Quinn Ewers (Dolphins) went on Day 3.
Packers take WR first: With the draft in Green Bay, the Packers took a WR in the first round for the first time since 2002, selecting Texas WR Matthew Golden. The announcement got a massive pop from Packers fans, almost like it was from a movie scene.
The first @packers' pick in Green Bay is...

Rest in Peace: Steelers first-round pick Derrick Harmon lost his mother, Tiffany Saine, shortly after he was drafted.

š The latest player news
Highest paid: Lions S Kerby Joseph and 49ers TE George Kittle both signed four-year extensions making them the highest-paid players at their positions in the league.
49ers S Malik Mustapha tore his ACL in Week 18 and his status for the start of the regular season is uncertain.
Comeback: Former Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow is officially back in the NFL after not playing last season, signing with the Panthers.
More veteran signings include: WR Tyler Lockett (Titans), WR Robert Woods (Steelers), WR Diontae Johnson (Browns), LB Isaiah Simmons (Packers), DE Emmanuel Ogbah (Jaguars)
Fifth-year options picked up from the past week:
The Vikings acquired QB Sam Howell from the Seahawks.

š° More NFL news and notes
Rest in Peace: Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve McMichael passed away after a battle with ALS.
The Eagles visited the White House the day after star RB Saquon Barkley spent time with President Trump. Barkley shot back at criticism anyone has for him:
lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long agoā¦and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my

Itās official: The Commanders are building a new stadium at the old RFK Stadium site. Itās expected to have some type of roof to help the city host Super Bowls. The plan is for it to be ready for 2030.
NFL Holidays: Commissioner Roger Goodell confirms the league will have three games on Christmas Day every year moving forward. Also, the Lionsā Thanksgiving game will be moved from 12:30 PM ET to 1:00 PM ET.
Goodell also says he thinks they need to shorten the NFL Draft clock to make it shorter, suggesting a seven-minute-per-pick clock in Round 1. (Currently, first rounds can push nearly four hours, which is just crazy.)
Other stuff from around the league:
āIs that Treā White over there?ā After taking a step back from social media, Josh Allen comically had no idea the Bills brought back good friend TreāDavious White until he saw him at offseason workouts.
Rams WR Davante Adams says the 49ers lowballed him in free agency, which 49ers GM John Lynch denies.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has a new haircut, calling the change motivation after the Super Bowl loss.
Lions first-round pick Tyleik Williamsā cat stole the show on his GMFB appearance.
Eight-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick gave an interesting interview with CBS Sunday Morning, which included a revelation that Robert Kraft was not acknowledged or mentioned in his forthcoming book, The Art of Winning.

This weekās Consigliere Corner hits on the top five of our dynasty rookie rankings in fantasy football. You can also check out our unlocked 2025 NFL Draft Big Board here.
1. Ashton Jeanty, LV RB
Premium draft capital at No. 6 overall. Pete Carroll as the HC. Chip Kelly as the OC. Jeanty is a foundational piece for the Raiders and should immediately be among the league leaders in touches. The Boise State product has immense big-play ability and should be a stud for years.
2. Travis Hunter, JAX WR
The Jaguars obviously have big plans for Hunter after trading up to No. 2 overall to take himāand word is itās going to start with full usage on offense. Brian Thomas Jr. is in Jacksonville, but there should be plenty of targets to go around in Liam Coenās attack.
3. Quinshon Judkins, CLE RB
The Browns also added Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson on Day 3, but they drafted Ohio State star Quinshon Judkins early in Round 2āso they must be very high on him. Kevin Stefanskiās offenses have allowed running backs to produce, and Judkins has both a good outlook Year 1 and long-term.
4. Omarion Hampton, LAC RB
Perhaps the rookie outlook isnāt quite as good for Hampton given the presence of veteran Najee Harris in LA, but Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman love to run the football to make things easier on their QB and team. Hamptonās ability to break chunk plays might be too great to keep him off the field much.
5. Jalen Milroe, SEA QB
The rushing upside of Milroe was a big discussion point during the pre-draft process, and thatās gold from a fantasy perspective. Also, the landing spot is promising, as Sam Darnold is basically on a year-to-year contractāand the Seahawks sound eager to develop Milroeās skillset. The upside is worth investing in early in rookie drafts.
